Thomas E. Adams, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Tom is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Adams; his children, Susan Canales and husband Luis, Sandra Carrell and husband Dean, Sharon Kuehne and husband Wes, and Thomas Jr.; his stepdaughter Mary Lou Cortimilia and husband Chris; his sisters, Ellen Thrash and Mittie Baxley; as well as 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Adams; his parents, Tom and Pauline Adams; and his brother, John Adams.

A man dedicated to duty and community, Tom served honorably in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967, a period of service he carried with immense pride throughout his life. His passion for helping others continued at home as a founding member and former Chief of the Nevada Texas Volunteer Fire Department, where he spent countless hours safeguarding his neighbors. In addition to his leadership as a first responder, he was a dedicated Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, embodying fellowship and service in everything he did.

Tom owned and operated the longtime family business, Adams Paint Center, continuing a family legacy with pride and dedication. Known for his deep expertise and welcoming nature, he was an expert in all things paint and was frequently sought out by customers and friends for his knowledgeable advice and guidance.

Tom’s legacy of devotion to his family, honor in service, and generosity to his community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
