Terry Grant Terhune went to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven on April 26, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. He passed shortly before what would have been his 68th birthday.
He was born May 6, 1958 in Sherman, Texas to Elmo and Velma Jean Terhune. Most of his childhood years were spent in Colorado, where he enjoyed keeping busy with things like football, track, and rock collecting. Later he attended Colorado State and received his Bachelors in Biology with a minor in Anatomy.
He spent his career working in industrial water treatment. This would take him to live in many places including Arkansas, Hawaii, Texas, Idaho, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Wherever he lived, he was involved in the local church. He often served as a deacon, an Awana leader and an all around “go-to” guy for help of many kinds. Time spent at the gym and playing racquetball brought him great joy. His outgoing personality made him many dear friends along the way. They would likely be found playing cards or watching a good game together. Family and friends held the most cherished place in his heart. He often showed his love with hugs, prayers, nicknames, individualized jingles and a helping hand. He had a sharp mind and a deeply committed love of puns. Terry truly never met a stranger and often became friends with employees at his frequent stops. Terry was a friend to everyone he met and looked for ways to uplift and encourage people until the very end. His faith in Jesus kept him thankful and hopeful through his final days.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lori; his children Jared (Breneah) and Colleen (Alex); his grandchildren Evelyn, Kaden, Emery, Kameron, Calvin and Nolan; his sister April and his brother Toby. He is preceded in death by his father Elmo Paul and his mother Velma Jean.
A celebration of life will be held on June 14th in Boise, Idaho at Esther Simplot Park at 5 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
We will celebrate his life and remember the ways he cared for and blessed us. We welcome guests to join us in this celebration in colorful, joyful attire.
