Stephen Pease Epperson was born in Dallas, Texas, at Baylor Hospital on October 17, 1967, to Duane and Linda Epperson of Garland, Texas. Stephen left us on April 28th, 2025, and committal will be on June 21, 2025, in Bonham Willow Wild cemetery, at 10am
After Stephen’s birth his older brother, Eric, who was five at the time, was anxiously waiting for his new baby brother to come home and play with him. We had explained to him that Stephen wouldn’t be able to play right away. There were many children in the neighborhood who were friends with Eric, and they were in the house in no time, standing on the rails of his bed, just watching him sleep. As soon as Stephen was walking, he was following the group around. He attended Garland schools, beginning in kindergarten at First Methodist Church and finishing at South Garland High School.
Stephen and his brother Eric worked together for almost 20 years with their father’s company. After Eric passed away in 2022, Stephen moved back to Texas from Georgia and continued working with Collier Engineering. While he was in Georgia, he continued to pursue a degree from OSU.
Stephen was pre-deceased by his father, Duane, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Dearing and Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Epperson. He is survived by his mother, Linda Dearing Epperson of Garland; his sister-in-law, Renee Epperson of Garland; Chris and Emily Epperson and their sons, Abel and Luke, of Granbury; Russell and Patricia Epperson and their daughter, Emilia, of Josephine; and a host of close family members. He was the godson of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Pease (Linda Terry Pease) of Huntsville, Texas.
Stephen battled several illnesses throughout his adult life. Annie Denver once expressed the thought, “The world can be hard on very sensitive and romantic-like people.” Stephen was such a person.
May he find love, comfort, and peace in the arms of God.
