Shirley May Taylor

June 3, 1939 — October 19, 2025

Shirley M. Taylor was born June 30, 1939, in Dallas, TX, the eighth child of Ethel M. and Minuard S. Shaddox. She passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, at age 86 surrounded by her loving children at Plano Medical Center. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Shirley’s warmth, strength, and love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett L. Taylor, who passed earlier this year on February 8, 2025, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, family, and faith.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Lula Brown of Campbell, Texas. She leaves behind her loving children: daughter Kim Vidrine and her husband Jim of Scott, Louisiana; daughter Stacy Cardenas and her husband Ricardo of Hunt, Texas; son David Taylor and his wife Michelle of Garland, Texas; son Victor Williamson and his wife Vicky of Quinlan, Texas; daughter Brenda Parks and her husband Ken of Decatur, Texas; and daughter LeAnn Williams of Mustang, Oklahoma.

She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother: grandson John Hall and his wife Cassandra, and their daughter Addilyn; grandson Taylor Hall and his wife Jessica, and their daughters Eviana, Mila, Violet and Valerie; grandson Zachery Taylor and his wife Tabby, and their son Brooks; grandson Nicholas Taylor and his partner Rachelle, and son Layton; granddaughter Danielle Fordenbacher and her husband Jake, and their children Shane, Kaitlyn and Blake; grandson Brandon Wisda, and children Brad and Caylee; grandson Kendal Parks and his wife Emily, and their children Kaden, Kipton, Tinley and Ledger; granddaughter Autum Nichols and her husband Nathan, and children Braxton, Kanyon, Hallie; grandson Eric Parks and his wife Hannah; grandson Cole Williams and his wife Megan, and children Amelia and Aylie; grandson Payton Williams; and grandson Gage Dowdle.

Shirley found great joy in spending time with her family. She loved gardening, sitting on the porch, admiring her flowers and watching the hummingbirds. She also cherished playing dominoes and cards, especially when she could convince someone to join her for hours of laughter and friendly competition.

Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness lives on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, TX 75048. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you consider making a donation to either the American Stroke Association or the National MS Society.
