Sherry Ann Ramsey

Sherry Ann Ussery Ramsey, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on June 25, 2026, at the age of 75.

She was born on March 20, 1951, in McKinney, Texas, to L.C. and Jo Ann (Richardson) Ussery. She graduated from McKinney High School and devoted much of her life to caring for others. On January 18, 1997, she married Roger Ramsey in New Hope, Texas.

For many years, Sherry was a preschool teacher at First McKinney Baptist Church. Caring for and teaching young children brought her immense joy, and she touched the lives of countless families with her patience, kindness, and a loving heart.

To know Sherry was to know a woman with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She was feisty, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind. She worried about the people she loved—sometimes more than she needed to—but every worry came from a place of love. She found joy in life's simple pleasures: a good potato, a hot dog, a new piece of jewelry, and never missing her favorite soap operas. Those who loved her will forever smile when those little things bring her to mind.

Above all else, Sherry loved her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, proud grandmom, cherished sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with those she loved, and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Ramsey of Sherman, Texas; daughter, Brittany Kuhlman and husband Tyler of Anna, Texas; her beloved grandchildren, Leona Kuhlman and Finley Kuhlman; her brothers, Don Ussery and wife Lee of Greenville, Texas, and Kenneth Ussery and wife Teri of McKinney, Texas; her nieces and nephews, Michael Ussery, Mindy Ussery, Maegan Van Steenburg and husband Blake, Brandon Dowell, Brett Dowell and wife Sarah, Lauren Reedy and Husband Nick, Joshua Ussery; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Jo Ann Ussery, and her brother, Marvin Ussery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at First McKinney Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
