Sherrie Sue Briggs

Sherrie Sue Briggs, known to those who loved her most as "Honey," passed away peacefully, on February 26, 2026, in Sachse, Texas. She was 89 years old.

Born on November 3, 1936, in Grand Saline, Texas, Sherrie lived a life rooted in faith and marked by devotion to her family. From her early days in East Texas to the generations she helped shape, she embodied warmth, steadiness, and unwavering love.

Sherrie graduated from Grand Saline High School where she was a proud Indian Majorette. She married and moved to College Station, Texas where she became a lifelong Aggie. She was a “stay at home Mom” while her children were younger. And, she later worked as a receptionist in Dallas before retiring in 2001 and moving to Sachse, Texas. She would spend the next years of her life enjoying her grandchildren and attending their many activities as their biggest supporter.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Adkins, father, Porter Adkins, and sister, Portia Kim Adkins.

Sherrie is survived by her son; Ken Briggs, Jr., and his wife, Melinda; her daughter, Kelley Felix, and her husband Mike; five grandchildren, Claudia Felix (Ryan) Maggey Hoffmann (Chris) Joseph Felix (Melanie) Ken Briggs III, and Matthew Briggs; and six great-granddaughters who she affectionately called, “her girls”, Hattie Naegle, Birdie Naegle, Lucy Hoffmann, Savannah Hoffmann, Jolene Moore, and Sloan Felix; sister, Mary Lou Thornton; and several nieces and nephews.

Honey’s legacy lives on through the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who knew her love firsthand. Her family finds comfort knowing she passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a very special Honey.
