Russell Howell passed away on February 17, 2023. Russ was born on September 26, 1963 at Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, Texas to Marshall and Jan Howell. He grew up in Garland, Texas.
Russell’s love of cars began by building his first model car at the age of 4. His daredevil nature led to a love of BMX bike racing and drag racing. When growing up he loved spending summer vacations in West Virginia with his family. Russ was gifted with amazing creativity and mechanical abilities. He was a custom auto body fabricator and was well respected in his field. He used his talent at several auto body shops in the metroplex including his time at Sewell Lexus.
Russell accepted Christ and was baptized when he was 16 at Calvary Baptist Church in Garland, Texas.
Survivors include his parents, Jan and Marshall Howell, daughter Whitney Howell Mask (Wesley) , granddaughter Madelynn Mask, son Brandon Russell Howell, sister Tracy Howell Crank, aunt Ethelynn Lummus, nephew Cody Crank, niece Morgan Crank and cousins Donna Lummus Clark and Janna Lummus Hines.
Russ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Frances Poulter of Denison, Texas and C.O. and Gertrude Howell of Clarksburg, West Virginia.
A visitation will be held on Saturday , March 4, 2023 at 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 pm at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home 2925 5th St., Sachse, Texas 75048.
