McKinney

Rose Ann Mitchell Burke age 78 passed away after a sudden and brief illness on March 20, 2026. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends while looking forward to her heavenly reward.

She was born on May 2, 1947, to Wm. V. (Bill) and Wilhelmine Mitchell in Indianapolis, Indiana. At the age of four, she moved to Garland, Texas where she was raised. Her graduation from Garland High School in 1965 gave her a lifelong sense of pride and many lifelong friendships. She received her ABA from Tyler Junior College. When both her children left home, she completed her undergraduate degree at Dallas Baptist University. She then went on to receive her MDIV in Biblical Counseling, furthering her life’s mission to lead others to a victorious life in Jesus Christ.

Rose Ann was passionate about relationships; she valued her faith, family, and friends above all else. Her greatest joy was to be called “Gran” by her many grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Rose Ann is survived by her husband, Philip Burke; daughter, Lisa Meador Stewart (Jason); son, Trey Meador (Allison); stepdaughters, Amy Burke, and Natalie Burke Kellenberger (Ken) and numerous grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Rose Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Wilhelmine Mitchell; and two brothers, Steve Mitchell and Don Mitchell.
