Ronald Luther Hill (Ron) passed away December 29, 2025 at his home in Murphy, Texas at the age of 83. He was born May 9, 1942, the beloved son of Silver Morrell Hill and Norma Jean Bowlden. He was raised in Pleasant Grove and Dallas, Texas by his mom and step-father Bill Seabolt. He had two sisters Margo Green and Ginger Wilbanks. He attended W. W. Samuell High School and was active in track, the student council, and the National Defense Cadet Corp. Ron was also a Boy Scout and proudly achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He continued his education at Southern Methodist University, graduating in 1964 with a degree in Art. He then joined the Air Force, studying Russian at Syracuse University in New York. He served in Brindisi, Italy and Hokkaido, Japan. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1969. He went to work in Technical Publications for Texas Instruments in Dallas as an Illustrator. He completed his formal education with an MBA from the University of Dallas in 1981. He retired in 2012.
In 1973, Ron married his beloved wife, Mary Ann Oliver. They had 3 sons Daniel, Stephen and Patrick. They settled in Garland for some time, but moved to Murphy, Texas in 2005. Ron loved Murphy. He founded the Murphy Community Emergency Response Team, both because of Stephen's service in the Fire Department and his own sense of civic duty. He was an avid walker and explored trails all around the city.
Ron was fiercely devoted to his family. He was thrilled to welcome his daughters-in-law, Natalie and Lindsey to the family. And he was absolutely delighted to be a grandfather to Corin, Jade, Ellie, Jack and Phoebe. He loved collecting books, attending services at St. Anthony's, researching a variety of interests, traveling, and exploring Dallas.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ginger and son Stephen. He is survived by his wife Mary, sister Margo, sons Daniel and Patrick and all his grandchildren.
