Roger W. Peraldo went to be with his heavenly Father on March 26, 2026 in Plano, TX. Roger was married for 57 years to Emma June (Hill) Peraldo, who preceded him in death in May 2021. The son of the late Ernest E. Peraldo and Stella (Maxine) Eanes, Roger was born and raised in Bluefield, WV. He was preceded in death by stepparents Eula Peraldo, Howard Eanes, Elsie Peraldo and Brother-in-Law Willard Kenneth (Ken) Hill. He is survived by daughters Angela B. Thompson (Scott) of Plano, TX, Alisha L. Brown (Mark) of McKinney, TX, Autumn L. Moutadaine (Rachid) of North Africa. He is also survived by grandchildren, Regan and Keller Thompson, Zachary Brown, Sister-in-Law Betty Hill of Pinehurst, NC, Sisters Rhonda Peraldo of Coconut Creek, FL and Martha Garian of Richmond, VA. In addition he is survived by niece Michelle Owen and nephews Michael Hill (Jennifer), Mark Hill, John Vest, Josh Vest (Stephanie) as well as several great nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Bluefield High and The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He was a licensed funeral director in Virginia for over 50 years and was also a sales representative of York Casket Company and Warfield-Rohr Casket Company of Baltimore, MD. He experienced great joy in serving families while working in the funeral home and casket business knowing this was helping families in their time of grief. He was a member of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association, Virginia Funeral Sales Association and Association of Independent Funeral Homes of Virginia and was blessed with many friends through his job. He was honored to assist with the Coffman Funeral Home of Staunton, VA and Driskill Funeral Chapel of Amherst, VA.
Roger and Emma lived in VA prior to his enlistment in the Air Force where he was assigned to Wheeler AFB in Hawaii. Their time in Hawaii provided treasured memories with military friends. After leaving the military they settled in Charlottesville, VA for over 46 years. He served for many years as an Elder and Deacon at First Christian Church, a Deacon at Trinity Presbyterian, and Treasurer at Grace Community Church. As a long-time resident of Charlottesville, he was a UVA fan and enjoyed many years of attending football and basketball games.
He was very involved in the Jaycees, serving as President, was awarded the Jaycees Key Man of the Year, Outstanding Young Man of Charlottesville-Albemarle and was a Life Member. He was President of the Weekday Religious Program of Albemarle County and volunteered with several other organizations in the community.
Roger and Emma moved to Texas in 2016 to be near their grandchildren and attended many of their school and sporting events. He cherished time with family, especially enjoying visits from his grandkids. In Plano, Roger was a longtime resident of Prestonwood Court and valued his relationship with residents and the caregiving team. He was a current member of Metrocrest Presbyterian Church.
A private family burial will take place with Military Honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with a Memorial Service at a later date. Roger would like to be remembered as a Christ follower and for being the hands and feet of his Lord, giving of his time and resources.In his honor, the family requests donations to: Mission to the World Account #16120, PO Box 744165 Atlanta, GA 30374-4165 or St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
