Rita G. Murrell, age 80, of Wylie, Texas, passed away May 31, 2014 in Wylie. She was born March 7, 1934 in Jena, Louisiana to William Oliver and Mamie Jewel King Smith.
Rita was preceded in death by her son, H.A. "Buddy" Murrell, III; grandson, Brent Murrell; her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Rev. Herbert A. Murrell, Jr.; Dianne Odle and her husband, Dannie and Darlene Harlow; four grandchildren, Wendi Graves and her husband, Kevin, Jason Lumpkins and his wife, Courtney, Natasha Owens and her husband, David, and Sharla Reynolds and her husband, Josh; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Smith and his wife, Alma; and numerous other family members.
