Peter Frank Vouras

Sep 11, 1954 — Aug 16, 2026

Frisco, Texas

In Loving Memory of Peter Frank Vouras who passed away peacefully on Sunday August 16, 2026. Peter’s last days were spent with family and friends.

Peter was born on September 11, 1954, in Meriden, Connecticut to Frank and Joanna Vouras. He grew up in the Dallas area and attended the University of North Texas.

As a young boy, Peter shared many memories with his sisters, some of their favorite outings were their Sunday car rides and stopping to watch the airplanes take off and land at Love Field Airport and trips to Kip’s Big Boy. Peter spent one memorable summer working at the family’s restaurant. While he always appreciated the experience, it quickly confirmed that the restaurant business was not his calling. He later worked for UPS for several years before finding his true career in the life Insurance industry with International Netherlands Group, ING. There he became known for his professionalism and genuine care for the people he served.

Outside of work, Peter found great joy on the tennis court. An avid player in his adult life, he also loved following professional USTA Tennis and took great pride in teaching the game to his nieces and nephews. He also cherished attending Dallas Mavericks home games with his dear friend, Scott, and was a devoted fan of both the Mavericks and the Dallas Cowboys. Family members fondly remember that whenever the cowboys were struggling, Peter would quietly leave the room, convinced his presence might bring them bad luck. It never changed the outcome, but it always brought a smile to those who knew him.

Anyone who spent time with Peter quickly recognized his remarkable intellect. He seemed to have knowledge about nearly every subject and enjoyed thoughtful conversations on just about any topic. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor and a kind heart. Once Peter made a friend, that friendship was for life, and those fortunate enough to know him treasured his loyalty. He also considered his brothers-in-law to be the brothers he never had, and they shared a close bond throughout the years. His selfless devotion was especially evident as he lovingly cared for his father during his final years. Peter also had a special love for animals and was always quick to show them kindness.

Above all, Peter loved the Lord and found comfort in his faith. During the final 18 months of his life, he faced cancer with courage, determination, and grace, never losing hope or his spirit.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Joanna Vouras. He is survived by his sister’s Christine McGuire, Francis Craft and Husband Eddie, Lillian Scoggins, Mary Vasquez and Husband David, along with countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all who loved him dearly. The Family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Peter’s team of physicians, Texas Oncology, nurses, and caregivers who walked beside him throughout his courageous fight and provided exceptional care with compassion and dignity. Though he is no longer with us, his love, wisdom, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
