Peggy Pollard Wyatt, age 92, died in Richardson, Texas on September 22, 2023. Born September 22, 1931 in Avery, Texas, Peggy’s childhood was spent living and working on a peach orchard in Avery. She graduated from Avery High School in 1949. Peggy was one of eight sisters born to William Franklin and Neta Roden Pollard. Upon graduation Peggy moved to Dallas and worked for Braniff Airlines. In May of 1952 her sister set her up on a blind date where she met the man she would spend the next 67 years with. She and Bob married in November of that same year. During that year Bob went to work for AT&T and worked in management there for the next 35 years. Their daughter was born the following year and Peggy became a stay at home Mom. Bob’s career with AT&T took the family from Dallas to Mineral Wells, Tyler, Kansas City, KS and then back to Dallas. After retirement Bob and Peggy built a home in Grand Saline where they enjoyed raising all types of fruits and vegetables along with teaching the grandkids about fishing and enjoying the outdoors. A move back to Dallas enabled them to participate in their grandchildren’s activities – soccer, baseball, Girl Scouts, choir.
Peggy was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and an involved and devoted grandmother. She dedicated her life to supporting her family, assisting friends and neighbors. She loved spending time with family and friends, and especially planning gatherings with her sisters and their families. She loved to cook, can and bake. And most of all, she loved her grandchildren and was always a loving presence in their lives.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Hart (Rick) and grandchildren Corey Wyatt (Stephanie), Craig Wyatt (Danielle), Cale Wyatt (Nicki), Jessica Hart and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
