Our mother and grandmother, Patsy Stephens, entered into God’s Kingdom on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born on October 18, 1936, and raised in McKinney, Texas. Patsy worked for Haggard Slacks and Texas Instruments before becoming the cafeteria manager at Dowell Middle School, where she loved every student who went through her line. She later retired from that position. Patsy was also a devoted member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church (New Hope Community Church).
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, William Spencer (father), Ned Sandlin (stepfather), and Clara Spencer Sandlin (mother). She was also preceded in death by her incredible and loving husband of 59 years, Kenneth Joe Stephens.
She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Stephens of McKinney, Texas, and Lucretia Bartlett and her husband, Randy, of Leonard, Texas, as well as her grandchildren, Chris Stephens and his wife, Rachel, of Kulm, North Dakota; Keila Hunter and her husband, Ja’Kory, of Tyler, Texas; and Tiffany Allen and her husband, Darian, of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Patsy was a woman who cared deeply about the people around her. She loved every person she encountered with the love of Christ and accepted everyone with a warm hug. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Our family wishes to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Seven Oaks Nursing and Rehab of Bonham, where Patsy spent the last six years of her life as she battled dementia. Thank you for loving our Granny as your own.
