Patricia Corrine Fajardo

July 31, 1949 — January 17, 2026

Sachse

Patricia Corrine del Castillo Fajardo, 76, peacefully passed away on January 17, 2026, in Sachse, Texas, in the comforting presence of her husband.

Patricia (Trish) was born to Modesto and Adelina delCastillo in Socorro, New Mexico, on July 31, 1949. Trish was extremely close to her Grandma and Grandpa del Castillo, who cared for her in her early years while her mother was pursuing a teaching degree. In 1968 Trish graduated from Socorro High School, where she was the head cheerleader and a member of the Girls Athletic Association. On June 14, 1968, she married her best friend’s brother, Gerald Edward Fajardo, whom she had known since second grade.

Trish and Gerald welcomed their only son, Charles, in December 1968. Their little family soon moved to Las Vegas, New Mexico, while Gerald completed his schooling. In the summer of 1972 the family moved to the Dallas area, and the following year Trish began her decades-long career with John Deere sorting mail in the mailroom. She soon transferred to the Human Resources department, eventually working as an HR supervisor. Trish retired from John Deere when her grandchildren were small and spent countless hours watching them, attending sporting events and school performances, and generally being the best Nana.

Trish was an accomplished seamstress, an excellent soccer player, and a talented crafter. She enjoyed a good bargain, dark chocolate, visiting family, and talking about her grandkids. Most of all she loved spending time with her husband Gerald: playing soccer, bowling, meeting with friends, and traveling. She was a proud mother, a doting grandmother, a loving mother-in-law, a warm and supportive Auntie, and a loyal friend.

Trish was preceded in death by her parents Modesto and Adelina del Castillo and her brother, Modesto. She is survived by her husband, Gerald; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Susan Fajardo; beloved grandchildren, Mark Fajardo and Marisa Fajardo; sister, Dolores Montoya; sister-in-law , Yvonne Bernal; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, loving friends and extended family.

The family wishes to thank her dedicated caregiver and friend Amanda Daniel for her loving care and support over the last few months.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:00 am, at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be directed to support Parkinson's research through the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
