Pamela Kay Whitman Haltmeyer (born January 4, 1943) passed away on May 11, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Norman Alan Haltmeyer; her daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi Neely Meyers and Brad Meyers, and their daughter, Elizabeth Ann; her daughter, Emily Kay Larkin, and Emily’s son Noah, his wife Megan, and their three children, Shadow, Harvest, and Ember; and her daughter, Holly Ann Piper, and her sons, Max and Patrick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Mae and Robert Larkin Whitman and son-in-law, Matthew Earl Piper.

Pamela was a kind, gentle, and gracious woman whose life was marked by compassion, intelligence, and quiet service to others. A gifted educator, she was among the early practitioners of Academic Language Therapy for students with dyslexia, helping countless children develop confidence and success in learning. She also worked for nearly two decades in the Continuing Medical Education Department at Baylor University Medical Center and later found great joy serving as an ESL teacher.

Pamela was a devoted mother, a loving wife, and a loyal and treasured friend. She had a warm spirit that made people feel welcomed, cared for, and understood.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church Garland (Fellowship Hall). Pamela’s grace, kindness, and steady love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
