Michael Howard Scott

Michael Howard Scott, age 74 of Rowlett, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 6, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, and was the eldest son of William and Sue Scott. Michael graduated from Justin Kimball High School in Dallas.

During high school, Michael followed in the footsteps of his late father and grandfather in the construction industry, eventually becoming a well-known superindent. After 51 years, he retired but left his mark in commercial construction in the DFW area.

On September 6, 1974, he married Diane Lanford at Little Chapel of the West in Las Vegas, Nevada and they were happily together for 52 years.

Michael is survived by his wife Diane Scott, Shea Miranda (daughter) and her husband, Jerry; Lindsey Boen (daughter) and her son Jax (grandson); Sue Scott (mother); Wade Scott (brother); Mary Johnson (aunt) and her husband Loyd; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Michael is preceded by William H. "Scotty" Scott (father); Gary Scott (brother).

Michael has loved and touched many lives and will be missed beyond measure by all who knew him.
