Mary Lois West Adams, 99, from Paris, Texas passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023. She was born December 25th, 1923 in Chambersville, Texas to Joseph Cottrell Herron an Ada Estelle (Horn) Herron and was the youngest of 11 children.
Mary and her husband, Clyde West, started West Motor Company in Sherman, Texas selling Honda Motorcycles and then later added a Honda franchise named Paris Honda in Paris. She is the oldest member of the Paris Newcomers Club and was a part of the original group when it was called "The Welcome Wagon Club". She loved having luncheons and entertaining her friends at her home, she hosted many gatherings for card games and Bunco. Although she moved away from Paris a few times, she always returned because of the treasured friendships she ha made.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, three sisters, husbands: Leon Appelbee and Clyde West, and her son Michael Appelbee.
Mary is survived by her three daughters Terri Simpson and Dwayne from Calera, Ok, Sharon Baker from Ardmore, OK and Clydene Autery and David from Yukon, OK; one son Ted West and Pat from Winterhaven, FL and her companion, Bill Scott of Paris, TX. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Graveside Services for Mary will be Monday November 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney, TX. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. prior to the graveside at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee St., McKinney, TX.
