It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Esther (Wilson) Allen. Mary was born on November 29th, 1955, and transitioned out of this life in her home in Melissa, Texas on May 26th, 2026 at the age of 70. Through her journey of this life she touched the life of many with her strength, wisdom, and service.
For 20 years Mary was a midwife and helped countless babies enter this world, including 10 of her 12 children and 2 of her grandsons. She found great joy in helping women know their own strength as they bore children.
Mary educated her 12 children through homeschool and extra curricular activities. She taught them to look at the world through a colorful lens, gave them a thirst for knowledge, and encouraged them to make an impact on the world around them.
Mary went about serving others. Whether it was in her own home, in her church community, or neighborhood. She could always be found helping others by offering wisdom, simply listening, or lightening the load of life through laughter. She lived by the saying, “the best way to forget about your own problems is to serve someone else the way Christ would.” She found a way to serve those around her everyday of her life.
Mary’s legacy of strength in Christ and perseverance in pain will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life will forever be a testament of the power of strength and endurance for those you love.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered for the life she lived fully and well.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Billie Wilson and Esther Dunn. She is survived by her husband Jerrold, her children, Jeremiah (Katie), Hannah (Paul), Esther (Craig), Joseph (Ena), Jacob (Michelle), Zacharias (Alya), Elisabeth, Daniel, Sariah (Steven), Rebekah, Rachel (Blake), and Miriam, her 34 grandchildren, and her sisters, Virginia, and Peggy.
A private memorial to honor Mary's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers we encourage you to honor Mary’s legacy by serving someone you know. This, we believe, would be the best tribute to such an incredible woman.
