Mark Edward Shaffer

Mark Edward Shaffer died on December 15, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by parents Rex and Christine Shaffer, and siblings Larry Shaffer, Pat Shaffer, and Dick Shaffer. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Shaffer and children Cole Shaffer, David Shaffer and Meredith Eastman. He is also survived by siblings Barbara Bastian, Rex Shaffer, Thomas Shaffer, Mike Shaffer, and Kathy Whanger.

Mark was born on July 31, 1956, and grew up in Dunbar, West Virginia. He had a life-long career in the publishing industry at the Dallas Times Herald and later the Dallas Morning News.

Mark was a very kind and generous person. He will be greatly missed by his family and by his community in Josephine, Texas.
