Mark Robert McComas

Mark Robert McComas, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on October 5, 1952, Mark was born and raised in Garland, Texas, where he spent his life building a family, doing the things that meant most to him, and fostering lifegiving friendships.

Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He never met a stranger, known for being a family man, his hard work, humor, dedication, and sacrifice.

Mark owned a dry cleaning business, Courtesy Cleaners, for 35 years before spending another 12 years as a special education bus monitor with Garland ISD. He found purpose in serving others and was known for the kindness and care he showed to the people around him.

Mark grew up going to Grace United Methodist Church, and later attended First United Methodist Church in Garland.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila; his daughters, Stacy and her husband, John, and their daughter, Wren; Chelsey and her husband, Adrian; Kelly; Alex; and Brandy; and his brothers, Doug and Terry and his wife, Vicki.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Joyce McComas.

He will be deeply missed, but his stories, jokes, laughter, and the love he gave so freely will live on in the people who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating Mark’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas.

For those who choose to send flowers to the service, flowers remaining afterward will be donated to a local hospital to be shared with patients, allowing Mark’s spirit of kindness and generosity to continue bringing comfort to others.
