Margaret Ann Feaster Epperson, 82, of Josephine, Texas passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. She was born in Avalon, Texas on August 6, 1942 to parents Docia Mae Jett Feaster and Robert Feaster.
Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana, sister and friend. She lived her entire life in the state of Texas. She was proud to be a Texan and loved bluebonnets, the state flower. She spent her childhood in Italy, Texas where she played basketball in high school. She graduated from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas with a degree in education. She spent her career as a teacher and taught classes from pre-K to middle school. She had a heart for teaching deaf and hard of hearing students and was fluent in ASL. She used this knowledge to also interpret church services over the years. Margaret married a Baptist minister and took her role as a pastor’s wife seriously. She and her husband served the Lord at First Baptist Church in Irving for 10 years and then moved to Robert Lee, TX in 1973 to serve at the First Baptist Church there. She was very active in church life including singing in the choir, playing the piano and organ, teaching Sunday School, and leading GA’s and Women on Mission. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She faithfully read her Bible every morning and kept detailed prayer journals. She shared her faith with her children, grandchildren, and people all over the world through missions including trips to Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand.
Margaret had many hobbies including sewing, crafting, cross stitch, crochet, and making her favorite Christmas sweets. She had a competitive spirit and enjoyed playing board games, basketball and pickle ball. Margaret was adventurous and would try anything once. She loved to plan trips for her husband and their best friends. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Josephine, TX in 2005 to be near their children and grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren and spent all of her time in retirement attending their school activities and sporting events. She also planned fun activities for them every summer for “Camp Nana and Pops.” She felt that chronicling life events was important and left her children detailed notes, letters, and scrapbooks full of memories.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bob Feaster. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 61 years, Roy Lee Epperson; daughter Melanie Little and husband Mark; daughter Nikki Sipe and husband John; son Stephen Epperson and wife Jill; grandchildren Jadyn Starnes, Rylee Starnes, Hannah Epperson, Camden Sipe, Holden Epperson, and Hayden Epperson. In addition she leaves behind many other loving family and friends including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. Margaret will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
