Lloyd Lee Grindstaff

May 1, 1932 — July 5, 2025

McKinney, Texas

Lloyd Lee Grindstaff, 93, passed away on July 05, 2025 in McKinney, Texas, surrounded by family.

Born on May 1, 1932, in Bollinger County, Missouri, Lee was the son of Ray P. and Bernice O. Grindstaff. A lifelong learner and dedicated servant, he graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1953 and began service in the United States Air Force that same year.

On October 4, 1952, Lee married the love of his life, Irene L. Roloff, at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Their partnership of over 70 years was marked by love, faith, and devotion to family. They made their home in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Lee dedicated his time enjoying the things he loved most: spending time with family, playing bridge, traveling, gardening, and volunteering at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.

In 2017, Lee and Irene relocated to McKinney, Texas to be closer to family. Lee was a quiet yet steady presence in the lives of those who knew him, deeply kind, gentle, and devoted. He was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed.

Lee is survived by his beloved wife, his son Michael Grindstaff of Cumming, GA, his daughter Cynthia Van Meter (Terry) of McKinney; three grandchildren, Lisa McIntire (Mason), Sarah Swiston (David), and Timothy Grindstaff; five great grandsons, Hayden Grindstaff, Cole and Owen McIntire, and Everett and Samuel Swiston; sister Mary Wilhoit.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his siblings Mildred Miller and Roy Grindstaff.
