Linda Ann Wren, 81, of Allen, Texas, passed away on January 27, 2026, under hospice care.
She was born in Quitman, Texas, April 10, 1945 to Schuyler Wren and Evelyn Wren Thornton. Linda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education–Psychology from the University of North Texas and a Master of Education degree from East Texas State University, with a focus on Special Education.
Linda worked in education for several decades, during a time when special education was still evolving. She primarily taught students with learning disabilities in public and private schools, including the Shelton School in Dallas, as well as in shelter settings. Throughout her career, she served as a special education teacher, reading instructor, and tutor, and was recognized as a Certified Language Therapist. She was committed to helping students develop skills, confidence, and independence. She also taught English as a Second Language at Kangnam University in South Korea.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Kim Hubbard and Stephanie Keelen; her son, Brian Larch; grandchildren MacKenzie, Natalie, Briley, Blake, and Cassidy; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, February 20th, 2026 at Charles W Smith & Sons Funeral, 601 S Tennessee St, McKinney, TX 75069.
