LeeNona Ann Fidel

August 5, 0006 — January 20, 2026

Wylie

LeeNona Ann Fidel (née Frazier), lovingly known as Lee, was born on August 5, 1956, in Dalhart, Texas, to Audrey Maxine Frazier (Jones) and Charley Clarence “Doc” Frazier. She passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, resilience, and deep compassion for others.

Lee was raised in Grants, New Mexico, where she graduated from Grants High School in 1974. Throughout her life, she was given the opportunity to see much of the country—and beyond—by living in several places, each adding to the depth of her perspective and the richness of her story. She made homes in Edmond, Oklahoma; Marion and O’Fallon, Illinois; Gillette, Wyoming; Trinidad and Grand Junction, Colorado; Farmington, New Mexico; Brisbane, Australia; and ultimately Wylie, Texas. Much like Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” Lee embraced each chapter with grace, carrying her faith, warmth, and sense of home wherever the road led.

Her faith was central to her life and guided the way she loved and cared for others. Lee possessed incredible inner strength and a rare ability to see the good in life’s hardships. Even in difficult seasons, she chose hope, gratitude, and grace, often reminding those around her to focus on what truly mattered. Her resilience and optimism were a quiet but powerful reflection of her faith.

Lee had an extraordinary ability to make people feel seen and valued. With a big heart, a contagious laugh, and a smile that truly lit up the room, she cared deeply for everyone around her—often putting others’ needs before her own. She found joy in sewing, gardening, and caring for her beloved animals. She also loved a good book, a great movie, and a competitive board game, and she could shuffle a deck of cards like no other—creating countless moments of laughter and connection around the table.

Above all else, Lee’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother and an adoring grandmother—known affectionately to her grandchildren as NoNo and Nonie, titles she wore with pride and love. She is survived by her children Maegan Lunte (Jason), Zachary Fidel (Lia), and Michaela Fidel; and her cherished grandchildren Audrey, Layla, and Remington Lunte, and Liliana, Zinnia, and Zachary Fidel. She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Easley (Lonnie) and LuAnn Elkins (Jerry); niece Brandi Gehrdes (Joe); nephew Brandon Jaramillo (Kathy); and grand-nieces and grand-nephews Alexa Elkins, Taylee Elkins, Sage Elkins, Lukas Elkins, Henry Gehrdes, and Adam Gehrdes.

Lee’s life was marked by love, service, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing her faith was her guiding light, and that love—her greatest gift—will continue to live on through her family.

A memorial service celebrating Lee’s life will be held on February 15 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Christian Church.
