Larry Doane

Mr. Larry Manley Doane, age 82, of Wylie, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Plano, Texas. 

Born on March 11, 1943, in Elkhart, Kansas, Larry was the only child of the late Lester Manley Doane, Jr. and Lois Marjorie Brisendine Doolen. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of twenty-eight years, Ketty Rosa Gaetan Doane. 

Larry proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Boyd, Yokosuka, Japan, and the U.S.S. Coral Sea, San Francisco, California. He received an honorable discharge following his 6 years of dedicated service. 

After completing his naval service, Larry pursued his calling to ministry. He became an ordained minister in 1978, earning his undergraduate degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God College and later a Doctor of Theology degree from Slidell Baptist Seminary. Larry was also a Board-Certified Doctor of Christian Counseling. 

Larry was known for his steadfast faith, wisdom, and love for his family and friends. 

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Tony Roberts (Laura); daughters, Michelle Corbidge (Ken), Cynthia Meals (Bobby), and Kathleen Murray (Darrell); stepchildren, Gissette Rodriguez (Angel), Annette Burt (Michael), and Mario Perez (Cherie); grandchildren, Jami Myers (Tyler), Travis Wellard (Selissa), Paige Roberts, Haylee Savage, Kaci Corbidge, Taryn Corbidge, Hayden White IV (Shelby), Heather White, Michael Murray (Kaylee), Melissa Schenkelberg (Eric), Olivia Rodriguez, Isaac Rodriguez, Ethan Burt (Ashley), Chloe Burt, and Kai Perez; and great grandchildren, Tucker Myers, Halli Myers, Talin Myers, Elijah Wellard, Sailor Roberts, Kaden Herr, Hayden White V, Oakley White, Presley White, and Gavin Murray. 

Larry’s legacy of faith, service, and love will live on through all those who were blessed to know him.
