Kyle Alan Morrow, 73, was a devoted husband and cherished stepfather and grandfather. Kyle was born January 27, 1952, in Waco, Texas, to Harvey Elmo Morrow, Jr. and Gladys Dell (Barker) Morrow. He passed away July 4, 2025, from Parkinson’s disease leaving a legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love.
Kyle graduated from Richfield High School in Waco, Texas before pursuing a law degree at the University of Texas at Austin. For nearly five decades, he dedicated his life to the legal profession, becoming a respected practicing attorney and a proud member of the bar association. His integrity and wisdom earned him countless friends and colleagues in the legal field throughout Garland and the surrounding Dallas area.
More than his professional achievements, Kyle was defined by his profound faith and his boundless heart. He loved the Lord with every fiber of his being, a truly devout Christian man who embodied the very essence of his beliefs. Kyle accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior, and his faith was a beacon, strong and unwavering, inspiring all who knew him. He was an active and cherished member of First Baptist Church, Garland, Texas, where he served as a deacon and contributed to numerous committees, always valuing his church family deeply.
In August of 1988, Kyle married Kristi Lee (Fieger) Morrow, creating a union that would span 36 years. With this, he embraced his role as a stepfather to Kristi's four children, becoming so much more than just a stepfather; he was a father figure. His kind and loving nature extended to everyone he met, making him a truly wonderful and warm individual. He also deeply loved his granddaughters and grandsons with his whole heart, a love that brought him immense joy.
An avid sports enthusiast, Kyle's loyalty to the Texas Longhorns was legendary. Whether it was football, basketball, or baseball, he could always be found passionately cheering on his team, never missing a season of support.
Kyle was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Howard Morrow, and sister, Karen Austin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kristi Morrow, of Garland; his children, Dr. Laura McBride of Boyd; Joshua Gunter and fiancée, Ellen Kirbie, of Jackson, Tennessee; Stacey Pierce and husband, Jonathan, of Royse City; and Lisa Fry and husband, Thomas, of Garland; grandchildren, Megan, René, Abigail, Jacob, Hayden, Isabella, and Andrew. He also leaves behind his uncle, Donald Barker, nieces, Emily Austin Tucker and Amy Austin Ragle, and nephew, Aaron Austin.
Kyle will be remembered for his incredible kindness, his loving spirit, and his unwavering faith. He lived a life that beautifully reflected the words of Isaiah 43:1, "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name, you are mine.” For his family, the Earth shifted a little bit the day he died, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 801 W. Avenue D, Garland, Texas 75040. A celebration of Kyle’s life will begin immediately following visitation at 1:00 p.m. also at First Baptist.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Rosemound Cemetery, 3201 S. 12th Street, Waco, Texas 76706.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church Legacy Building Fund.
