Kathryn Janette Taylor, lovingly known as Kathy, passed away on July 21, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 46. She was born on December 17, 1979, in Marshall, Texas, to Charles Taylor and Debra Taylor.
Above all else, Kathy was a devoted mother whose greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was raising her three sons. She is lovingly survived by her sons, Taylor Christopher Durbin, age 20, Braydon Darrell Durbin, age 17, and Zachary Preston Durbin, age 15. Her love, guidance, and unwavering faith will continue to live on through each of them.
Following graduation, Kathy dedicated ten years of her life as an Intensive Care Trauma Nurse. She cared for patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, always placing their needs above her own. Her extraordinary compassion, calm presence, and unwavering commitment to helping others earned the admiration and respect of colleagues, patients, and families alike. Nursing was not simply her profession—it was her calling.
Kathy’s faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. She lived her faith through her actions each day, extending grace, generosity, and love to everyone she encountered. She faithfully instilled those same Christian values in her sons, teaching them by both word and example the importance of faith, integrity, humility, and compassion.
Kathy’s life was a beautiful testament to compassion, perseverance, faith, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by accomplishments alone, but by the countless lives she touched, the friendships she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely. Though her earthly journey has ended, the impact of her life will continue to be felt for generations through her family, her friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
