Joseph Michael McBride

December 21, 1934 — February 5, 2026

Sachse

Joseph “Mike” McBride of Sachse, Texas, passed peacefully from this earth on Thursday, February 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was the steadfast, loving husband to his wife, Prunella (“Prue”), for 67 years. Together, they raised three beautiful daughters. He was “Pa” to nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored deeply—and who adored him in return.

Mike had a distinguished career of more than 20 years in the United States Army, serving during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a proud recipient of the U.S. Air Medal, Bronze Star, and Meritorious Service awards.

Mike was, and always will be, an earthly example of the love of Jesus Christ. He showed up for others in times of both sorrow and joy, giving freely and wholeheartedly, never expecting or asking for anything in return. A servant of Christ first and foremost, he had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome, seen, and deeply loved. His absence leaves an enormous void and even bigger shoes to fill. While we grieve what we will miss, we rejoice in the reward he has received. We are honored to have had a front-row seat to his life and are forever grateful to have been loved by him.

He would want you to know:

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” —Psalm 118:24

If you would like to honor Mike, we ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tunnels to Towers, or the Veterans Association, causes that were near and dear to his heart.
