With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Wayne Arbogast, Sr. on February 25th, 2026, at the age of 82.
He was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on October 2nd, 1943, son of the late Corene Elizabeth (Bullard) and Charlie Lloyd Arbogast. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, Jimmie Arbogast.
John sat at the head of a large (and often loud) family. His surviving family members include his wife, Lilia Mauri Arbogast and her children, Paulina and Ricardo Ruiz, his second wife Stephanie Arbogast (Herrington) and his first wife Sandra Lane (Stegall), as well as his sister Edi Gale Arbogast.
He was a father of three, and watched those children grow, marry and create families of their own. He had one son from his first marriage- John Arbogast, Jr (wife Laura). He also gained two step-daughters from his second marriage- Tracy Spurrier (husband Rick) and Kris Porter (husband Ken).
These three children gave John several grandchildren including Mandy Reilly (Arbogast), Jimmie Arbogast, Ashley Cook(Graham), Micheal Graham, and Jesse Porter. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Diana, Leia, Tessa, Jeritt, Avea, Emberlee and Jimmy.
John had many milestones in his well-lived life; working in Wichita, KS as an insurance salesman and with Boeing aircraft, moving to Texas, traveling to a variety of countries such as China and Mexico, raising teenagers in the 70’s, buying businesses, and of course, the relationships and family he made throughout his years. John owned and operated a furniture store, a salvage yard (which came in handy with those teenagers), and multiple mini-storage units. He adored his dogs, Darby and Luke, and enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, fast cars and a well-timed joke. John leaves behind a legacy of hard-earned wisdom, humor and memories of time well spent with family and loved ones.
He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. We love you, Pop.
