Jessie John Martinez 80 of Mckinney, Texas passed away on September 29, 2026.
Jessie Martinez was born on August 20th, 1946, in Mckinney, Texas to Ezekiel Martinez and Mary Hernandez. He attended schools in Mckinney, Texas. Jessie never married or had any children but was blessed with an abundance of nieces and nephews.
His Catholic faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout his life. His love for his family was unwavering when he made the selfless decision to leave a full-time job so that he could care for his ailing mother Mary and niece Victoria Watkins (Osornio), whom he and his mother had raised.
He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like playing Bingo and treasured the time spent with one of his dearest friends and family members. Those moments of laughter and companionship brought him joy. He was also a talented and creative soul who found joy making beautiful and unique things. From stitching frames and creating one-of-a-kind lamp shades, he enjoyed designing home décor.
In his later years, he looked forward to his lotto scratch-off tickets! He also never turned down a good old-fashioned Baker’s burger or some Golden Fried Chicken. These simple treats brought him happiness.
Jessie is preceded in death by his mother Mary Hernandez, his father Ezekiel Martinez, his brother Tommy Martinez, his sister Beatrice Martinez, his sister Gloria Martinez, and his sister Robin Martinez.
Jessie is survived by his sister Margarete Martinez, sister Anita Martinez and brother Phillip Martinez and an abundance of nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.
