Jeffry Bing Davis, 79, of Barboursville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 9, 1947, Jeff was the beloved son of the late Ronald and Hazel Davis. He graduated from St. Albans High School in 1965 and then earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering at Marshall University and was a registered professional engineer through the State of West Virginia.

Jeff had a distinguished 33 year career at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where his work contributed to critical engineering projects within West Virginia and surrounding states. He was admired for his integrity, dedication, sense of humor, and gentle spirit.

He had a passion for music and was an avid guitar player.

Jeff is survived by the love of his life, Neena Davis, having shared 54 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, Tiffany Smith and Mark Davis; and his grandchildren, Isla Smith, Liam Smith, Abigail Davis, and Isabel Davis.

Two of Jeff’s favorite Bible verses were:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways know Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:5-8
