Jeanine Kay Harvell

Jeanine Kay Harvell (née Filbert), age 87, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in Princeton, Texas. Born on November 24, 1938, in Elkhart, Indiana, Jeanine lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and deep love for her family.

Jeanine was the daughter of Vera Tavernier and Robert Filbert. She grew up in Indiana alongside her siblings and carried the values of warmth and compassion with her throughout her life. These qualities became hallmarks of her character—she was known for making everyone feel welcome and important.

Jeanine dedicated 18 years of service to the City of Plano Fire Department before retiring. Her commitment reflected her generous spirit and steadfast work ethic. She took pride in her role and the department she served.

Family was at the heart of Jeanine’s world. She shared many cherished years with her beloved husband, Billy Joe Harvell, who preceded her in death. Together they raised two children: Lori Harvell Drumm and John Eric Harvell. Jeanine found immense joy in being a mother and later a grandmother to Jessica Christian Drumm and Spencer Payton Drumm. Her children and grandchildren were truly the center of her life.

She is also remembered fondly by many friends, nieces, and nephews spanning from Florida to Alaska—each touched by her warmth and generosity.

Jeanine was preceded in death by her husband Billy Joe Harvell; her mother Vera Tavernier; her father Robert Filbert; her brother Tom Tavernier; her sister Beverly Burritt; and her son-in-law Monty Lynn Drumm.

Her legacy lives on through those who knew and loved her. May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.

 A Visitation will be held on January 14, 2026, from 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Charles W Smith and Sons Funeral Home 601 S. Tennessee St.

 A simple graveside service will be held at noon on Thursday, January 15 at Fitzhugh Cemetery 2540 Country Club Road, Lucas, Tx 75002.
