James Robert Lewis Jr (1946-2026)

James Robert Lewis Jr, 80, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 3, 1946, in Longbeach, California, James was the beloved son of the late James and Judy Lewis. He graduated from Leilehua High School in 1964, enlisted in the Air Force where he served his country until 1972. Serving in Vietnam and Thailand during the Vietnam War.

He attended Christ for the Nations Bible School from 1985-1987. He was later ordained and served as a Children’s Pastor for 20 years. James also worked as an Appliance Repairman and Warehouse Worker. He had many interests and hobbies such as photography, creating beautiful jewelry and music.

James is survived by his wife, Gloria Lewis; children, Loy Lewis, Jason Lewis and Lisa Tardif; 10 wonderful grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; his sister, Jeanie Neal, and numerous nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents James and Judy and his sister Jan Gonzales.
