He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Callie Recer; and his brothers, Bud Recer, James Recer, Charles Recer, and Roy Recer.
J.A. loved the Lord deeply. In his final days, he shared with everyone he met that he was looking forward to being with his Lord and Savior in Heaven. He was a member of the McKinney Church of God.
His family will always remember and cherish the Scripture that became their family motto:
"For we walk by faith, not by sight." — 2 Corinthians 5:7
