Herbert Reed was born on November 11, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Maggie Bell Reed and Robert Wade. From humble beginnings, Herbert lived a life full of strength, love, and purpose.
He was a skilled welder by trade, known for his precision, craftsmanship, and work ethic. Outside of work, Herbert enjoyed traveling and, above all, spending time with his family. These were the moments he treasured most gatherings full of laughter, warmth, and unity.
Herbert was the proud father of one son, Marlando Dobbs, and a devoted grandfather to his cherished grandchildren. His family was his heart, and his legacy lives on through them.
Herbert leaves behind a host of loving siblings: Gwendolyn Coley, Jacquelyn Dobbs, Cynthia Story, Maria Wade, Debra Wade, and Lucille Haynes.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Theresa Price, Johnathan Story, and Melvin Reed.
Herbert was a man of many words, filled with wisdom, laughter, and stories that uplifted those around him. He was steady, dependable, and always present when needed. He touched many lives with his kindness and humility, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
