It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Dotson Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Harold left this world on June 19, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He was born on February 1, 1960, in Dallas, Texas.
Harold was the son of the late Harold Dotson Sr. and Shirley Yvonne Dotson. Harold was a master mechanic who was always helping others, often going above and beyond for those in need, never expecting anything in return.
In 1982, Harold married the love of his life, Judy Dotson. For 44 years, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual support. Together, they built a family that was the center of Harold's world, raising three wonderful children—Jason Hulen, Misti Stidham, and Harold Dotson III. Harold's heart was further warmed by the birth of his granddaughter, Lila, who held a special place in his life.
Harold was a man of many passions. He was a Masonic member from 2006, following in his father's footsteps. In his leisure time, Harold could often be found playing pool with friends, enjoying time at the race track, or masterfully playing Knock, a game at which he excelled. His infectious laugh and witty sense of humor couldn’t help but make you smile and laugh.
Despite his reserved nature, Harold's warmth and kindness shone through to those he held dear. His strength and work ethic were unmatched, and he was always ready to do anything for his family and friends.
A service to celebrate Harold's life will be held on Friday June 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Charles W Smith and Sons, located at 2925 5th Street, Sachse, TX 75048. Following the service, those who wish to pay their final respects are invited to attend the burial at Grove Hill Cemetery, 3920 Samuel Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, at 2:00 PM.
The Dotson family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who loved and supported Harold throughout his life. Your kindness and friendship meant the world to him, and your presence now offers comfort during this time of sorrow.
Harold's legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. As we say goodbye, let us remember Harold for the joy and love he brought into our lives.
