Guadalupe Gonzalez Saldivar, aged 85, peacefully passed into the presence of the Lord surrounded by his family on February 25th, 2026. Born on November 25th, 1940, in Melvin, Texas. He lived a full and loving life. He was the beloved husband of Olivia Rodriguez Saldivar and a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Guadalupe is survived by his children; his son Lupe Saldivar (wife Angela); son Ronald Saldivar (wife Zaida); son Jaime Saldivar (wife Jennifer); son Aaron Saldivar; daughter Annette Fuhr (husband Paul); grandchildren, Tyler Killingsworth (wife Christine), Alexandria Saldivar, Anna Moore (husband Casey), Camryn Richardson (husband Brendan), Elijah Saldivar, Serena Saldivar, Karissa Saldivar, Hannah Saldivar, Alissa Saldivar, Savannah Cooke (husband William), Olivia Saldivar, Aaron Jr. Saldivar, and Lauren Fuhr; his great-grandchildren Zoe Killingsworth, Kaige Killingsworth, Elena Kai Moore, Camila Ezri Moore, Kolten George Cooke, and Cameron Jamal Cromer Jr.; his brothers Pablo Saldivar, Augustine Saldivar, and Daniel Saldivar; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Olivia Rodriguez Saldivar, parents, Tranquilino and Felipa Saldivar, and his siblings, Rafael Saldivar, Tomas Saldivar, Florentina Saldivar, Frances Romo and Tranquilino Saldivar Jr.
Guadalupe married his wife Olivia on April 17th, 1963, in Olton, Texas. In their fifty five years of marriage they built a life devoted to their faith, their children, and grandchildren who lovingly called him “Papa Lupe”. Mechanic by trade, many would find him working under a hood, eventually retiring from Garland ISD. Known for showing up to all his grandchildren's events, his witty spirit, his love for traditional family meals (but always asking for a hamburger), trips to the casino, and time spent in good company, Papa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. May his legacy of family, hard work, and faith continue to inspire his family and his children and their children for generations to come.
