In Loving Memory of Greg Ramay

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Gregory Dwayne Ramay, of Melissa TX, a devoted father, grandfather, friend, mentor, and one-of-a-kind soul whose laughter and kindness left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Greg was the kind of man who never met a stranger. He could walk into any room and leave with a new friend. His personality was larger than life, and his quick wit made him the funniest person in the room. He always had another joke ready, another story to tell, and another reason to make someone smile. His laughter was contagious, and he had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved.

Sports weren't just something Greg watched—they were a way of life. If there was a game on, you could count on Greg finding it. It didn't matter if it was football season, baseball season, basketball season, or race day—there was always a game playing somewhere. Saturdays and Sundays often revolved around whatever team or event was on television, and watching sports was one of his favorite ways to spend time with family and friends.

He was a true workhorse whose career was more than just a job—it was his passion. Greg took tremendous pride in his work. He believed in doing things the right way, led by example, and earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside him. His dedication, leadership, and unmatched work ethic inspired countless people throughout his career.

Greg’s legacy will not only be found in the buildings and communities he helped create, but in the countless lives he touched along the way. He showed others the importance of hard work, enjoying life, and finding a reason to laugh—even during the hardest moments.

Whether he was singing along to his favorite song, cheering on his favorite team, casting a fishing line at sunrise, or making everyone around him laugh until they cried, Greg lived life with his whole heart. Those who knew him will forever remember his voice filling the room, his endless jokes, and the joy he brought everywhere he went.

Above everything else, Greg loved his family. He is survived by his son, Greg Ramay wife Lauren Ramay, and his daughter, Jeralyn Risley and husband James Risley. He was a proud grandfather to Little James, Luke Gregory, Kaitlin Noel, Jamielyn Jean, Mason Paul, Duke Dwayne, and Jaxon Ray. His family will forever carry his humor, strength, stories, and love with them. Loved by His Brothers, Keith Ramay, Richard Ramay, and Jeff Foster. He was proceeded in death by his loving parents Pasty and Joe Foster and his brother Steven.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that his laughter will continue through the jokes we tell, his voice will return whenever one of his favorite songs plays, and his spirit will be with us on every fishing trip and every visit to the casino.

Greg was deeply loved and will be missed more than words could ever express. He leaves behind memories that will continue to make us laugh, smile, and occasionally shake our heads.

And somewhere, we know Greg is smiling and saying:

“Hold my beer. Watch this.”
