Glenn Alvin Secondine

Glenn Alvin Secondine of McKinney, Texas, passed away on September 21, 2025 at the age of 92. He was born on January 8, 1933, to Henry Anderson and Mary Mae (Tate) Secondine in Claremore, Oklahoma. Glenn married Joyce Lucille Streeter on August 3, 1953, in Washington County, Oklahoma. He was of the Baptist faith.

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Joyce Secondine, of McKinney, Texas; daughter Sherri Stroup and husband Marvin Campbell of Van Alstyne, Texas, and daughter Dianna Couch of Royse City, Texas; grandchildren Keely Morris, Jarrod Stroup (Madelyn), Jana Walker (Jeromy), and Justin Stroup (Jennie); great grandchildren Kamryn Morris, Hudson Morris, Mallory Walker, Madison Walker, Alexa Stroup, Ethan, Stroup, Jackson Stroup, and Jameson Stroup; siblings Patricia Harrell and David Secondine (Karen).

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his four brothers, Donald Secondine, Roger Secondine, Earl Secondine, and Fred Secondine.

Glenn graduated from Nowata High School in 1951. He was drafted into the United States Army in March 1953 and deployed to Korea until his Honorable Discharge in January 1955. After release from the Army, he attended Oklahoma State University School of Technical Training in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where he completed his studies in drafting in April 1958. Glenn and Joyce subsequently moved to the Dallas, Texas area, where after being here for a short time, Glenn got his dream job of working for Texas Instruments as a draftsman. He was a dedicated employee and worked at TI for 35 years, retiring early at age 58.

Glenn was raised on a farm in Delaware County, Oklahoma. He was proud of his Native American heritage and loved to collect Native American memorabilia. He also had a lifelong love of farming. In his retirement years, he drove to his farm every day where he loved being outside, tending to his cattle, and driving his tractor. Glenn and Joyce in the past also enjoyed going to 1st Monday in Canton and collecting various items or buying farm equipment. He also loved playing football in his high school years and cheering on his favorite team, Dallas Cowboys.

Glenn was a simple but hardworking man who was a wonderful husband to Joyce and a great father to his 2 daughters, Sherri and Dianna. He also enjoyed being a pepaw to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to smile and laugh.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Lakeview Cemetery in Lavon, Texas.
