Glenn Charles Pedersen, 71, of Rockwall, Texas, died Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Born February 27, 1955, in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Glenn grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and made his home in the DFW area for the past 21 years.
Glenn was a devout Catholic throughout his life, from his days as an altar server to earning the Ad Altare Dei Award from the Boy Scouts of America. Growing up, he loved playing basketball in the backyard with his brothers and neighbors. He attended De La Salle High School and the University of New Orleans.
Glenn began his hospitality career at age 20, working for the Royal Sonesta in the French Quarter. He was later recruited to help launch a new hotel segment, Courtyard by Marriott. He was promoted from Area Manager to Southeast Regional Manager where he was responsible for overseeing Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn. He met Debbie, his wife , while living in Atlanta. He later started his own hotel firm, Pineapple Management Services, which was purchased by Encore Enterprises in 2001. At Encore, he served as President of the Hospitality Division for 25 years. He also served on the Marriott Franchise Advisory Council and the Hilton Advisory Council.
Glenn's deepest love, affection, and support were for his wife Debbie of 36 years and his children and grandchildren.
Glenn was an avid hunter and fisherman, gathering many trophies along the way. He loved taking family and friends fishing in Cocodrie, Louisiana, where lasting memories were made. If you ever needed someone to show you how to navigate Disney or Universal, Glenn was the man. He treasured trips with his family to Alaska, Hawaii, Marco Island as well as cruises around the world.
Some of Glenn's proudest moments were spent watching his children, whether it was spending hours at Rachel's gymnastics meets or cheering on Chas at his baseball games. He often sent play-by-play updates, and every tumble, to his brothers. Glenn became a well-known figure in the Dallas Tigers Baseball Organization, where he kept score at all of Chas's games and cheered on every player, especially his son, with his favorite cheer, "Atta boy, Chas!"
One of Glenn's finest qualities was his devotion to staying in touch. Over the years he kept up with friends, family, and former coworkers, and he always put others before himself. He loved his nightly video chats with his grandchildren over dinner, hearing all about their daily activities.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lindbergh Pedersen and Joyce Faucheux Pedersen.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Deborah “Debbie” Lacy Pedersen; his son, Glenn Charles "Chas" Pedersen II; his daughter, Rachel Nicole Dupuis (Jacob); grandchildren Adeline and Everly; brothers Gerald (Phyllis) and Brett (Jenna); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A reception will be held at the Pedersen home immediately after interment at Lake View Cemetery.
