George William Hill, aged 73, passed away on June 22, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was born to Luther and Goldie Hill in Dallas and grew up in Garland, Texas. He graduated from Garland High School and attended Stephen F. Austin.
George began working with his father at Professional Equipment Company at the age of 13. He took over the business in 1984 and successfully ran it for 20 years, making a notable name for himself in the dental industry. George married Karla Jean Fears on August 16, 1974. They had two children, Stephenie and Jeremy. They moved to Hawaii and Portland, Oregon in 2005 for work and adventure. Missing their home state of Texas, they returned home in 2011. George’s dedication to his work was paralleled by his commitment to his family and his community.
A man of deep faith, George was previously a member of First Baptist Church Heath, where he was a deacon for many years. His personal life was enriched by his love for traveling. George and Karla and their two dogs explored 49 of the 50 states, with Alaska being the only one they didn’t make it to. He also had a passion for visiting Civil War sites and enjoyed watching YouTube videos in his later years.
George is survived by his loving wife, Karla Hill, daughter Stephenie Gillen, husband Jason and grandchildren Morgan and Mason of Keller, Texas. Son Jeremy Hill, wife Cortney and granddaughters Laura and Sarah of Linden, Texas. He also leaves behind his brother Wayland Hill, wife Andrea and nephews Robert and Kyle. Also, many other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents Goldie Belle Hill and Luther Ben Hill.
George’s life will be remembered as one marked by perseverance, humor, and a profound sense of duty to both family and community.
A Visitation will be held at 1 pm at First Baptist Church Heath with a Celebration of Life Service following at 2 pm.
