Gayle Blankenship Jones

Gayle Blankenship Jones, 78, of Richardson Texas, passed away on May 29, 2025, at The Reserve at Richardson Rehabilitation with her husband of 57 years by her side. Gayle was born January 9, 1947 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Cecil Gayle Blankenship and Leora "Betty" Esther Benedict. In 1960, preceding the death of her father and 2 years earlier her mother, she came to live in Dallas Texas with sister Gayle Blankenship King, her Husband J.W. King, and their children Ellyce, Linda, and Jesse. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1965. A year later she went to work in a civilian position with the Dallas Police Department. It was there that she would meet the love of her life Martin E. Jones a Police Officer with the city of Dallas. She and Martin would marry on Valentines day 1968 in Irving Texas. They had two children, Susan Jones Burns and Paul Martin Jones, and settled in Richardson Texas. She would go on to work at Springridge Elementary School in Richardson to keep an eye on Susan and Paul. And later in life would work as a preschool teacher at All Saints Church Litttle Saints Program in Dallas Texas to keep an eye on her Granddaughter Jessica Gayle Reyna. She had a love for all children and loved to watch them grow and mature in life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother (Nanny). She loved her family more than anything and loved celebrating all holidays, birthdays, and special occasions with them. That was her happy place. She also loved spending hours talking with her many loving friends and strangers alike. The many lunches and time spent with them was her favorite way to spend her spare time. She had the most pure, caring and giving heart and would give all that she had just to see someone happy. Remaining to cherish Gayle's memory are spouse, Martin E. Jones; son, Paul M. Jones and his wife Rebecca; grandchildren, Jessica Gayle Reyna and husband Isaiah; Kellissa Hoppie and husband Cody; and Walker Terrell. Preceding Gayle in death were parents, Cecil Gayle Blankenship and Leora Esther Benedict; sister Gayle Blankenship King; and most recently her loving Daughter and best friend, Susan Marie Burns. Services and Mass will be held on Wednesday June 18th 2025 at 0130 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 600 S Jupiter Rd, Richardson, TX 75081.
