Frances Arlene “Fran” Wolford
August 23, 1942 – November 2, 2026
Frances Arlene “Fran” Wolford passed away on November 2, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, determination, generosity, and devotion to family.
Born on August 23, 1942, in Zearing, Iowa, Fran grew up in Marshalltown, a place that remained dear to her heart throughout her life. She often spoke fondly of her childhood home and the memories she treasured there.
Fran was a gifted hairstylist, successful businesswoman, and natural entrepreneur. Her creativity, strong work ethic, and exceptional eye for beauty were evident in everything she did. She had impeccable taste in fashion, home décor, and entertaining, and she took great pride in creating beautiful surroundings and welcoming others into her home.
Known for her independent spirit, quick wit, and unmistakable personality, Fran was truly one of a kind. Beneath her determination and strong opinions was a generous heart and a genuine desire to encourage and help others succeed.
Above all, Fran loved her family fiercely. She was a devoted mother who instilled in her children the importance of hard work, personal responsibility, faith, and striving for excellence. Her love of family traditions, hospitality, and wonderful home-cooked meals created cherished memories that will continue for generations.
Fran's Christian faith was an important part of her life. She looked forward with great anticipation to the promise of heaven and the joy of seeing her Savior face to face. One of her favorite hymns, Mansion Over the Hilltop, beautifully expressed that hope.
Fran is survived by her four children: Mardi Yeary (Steven), Christy Hudman (Jim), Becky Potter (Gavin), and Hubert Little II (Casey); her brother, James Wolford; eleven grandchildren: Lauren, Tiffany, Garret, Joel, Preston, Alexis, Tori, Adyson, Nicolas, Neveah, and Hubey; and thirteen great-grandchildren: Macey, Charlotte, Elliot, Bennett, Sawyer, Shane, Lawson, Charlee, Brody, Pierce, Ronin, Noble, and Vale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Avis; her grandson, Jeremy; her great-grandson, baby Gavin; her brother, Walt; and her sisters, Ardis and Marilyn.
Fran will be remembered for her strength, creativity, generous heart, wonderful sense of humor, unwavering love for her family, and the lasting influence she had on so many lives.
Throughout her life, Fran often spoke of wanting to return to Marshalltown, the earthly home of her childhood. But she also eagerly anticipated the eternal home promised through her faith in Jesus Christ.
On November 2, 2026, Fran was finally home.
