Douglas Wayne Moore moved to Heaven on Dec 27, 2022. He was born on November 13, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James Leroy Moore and Para Lea Daniel Moore. Doug married Molly Anna Harvey in 1958 and they had three sons. She preceded him in death. Later, Doug met and fell in love with Charlene Summerlin of Sachse, Texas who survives him in death along with his sisters Annie Joe Hutson, Sharon Lea Moore, sons Kent, Kraig, Kam, Brian and Ted and grandchildren Michael, Michaela, Andrew, Jeremy, Jason, Callie, Brady, Allee and Brody, as well as a multitude of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Doug was an amazing example of the Father, Son, Husband, Uncle, GrandPa, Friend and Human Being that God asks us to be. He loved people with an honest love and respect that you could feel. He also loved dogs, and they loved him. Doug loved. That is who he was.
He started work early as a paper boy delivering for the Fort Worth Press. When he was 18 he began his 60 year career as a Masonry Contractor. His work is appreciated today in many places across Dallas-Fort Worth. His meticulous artistic brick and rock designs are well known.
When it was too cold to lay brick, he went fishing. He caught a lot of fish in his life. It has been said that fish trembled when they heard his name. He was a talented mechanic when needed and a fearless dirt bike rider. When he decided to do something, he did it. If he shook your hand and promised something, he did it and if he said he wouldn’t do something, he didn’t.
Doug’s kids agree, He will always be their Hero and example.
