Dorothy Marie Al-Tirhi

Dorothy Marie Al-Tirhi (Adams), passed away on May 5, 2025 in Plano, TX at the age of 79. Born on December 12, 1945, to E. Ray and Elaine L. Adams in Dallas, TX. Misty, as she was fondly referred to by those that knew her well, started her career at the young age of 22 as a special education teacher in Garland ISD. After 5 years as a special education teacher, Misty switched roles with the school district after obtaining her masters degree and became an elementary school counselor. She served multiple campuses in her 33-year career until her retirement in 2000.

As a young woman, Misty loved to travel to different countries during her summers with her best friend and roommate, Cheryl Rogers Baker. It was after one of these trips that she met her future husband through a mutual friend. New Year's Eve of 1974, Misty met Imad S. Al-Tirhi through her friends Connie and Joe Ashour. These 2 amazing people would one day become her Aunt and Uncle. Misty and Imad continued to date until January of 1978 when Imad proposed to Misty. They were married in a quiet and intimate ceremony in her mothers home on January 27, 1978. After their marriage, the 2 newlyweds decided to build their dream home on the land that was purchased on the edge of the tiny farm community of Frisco, TX. And for the next 45 years, this is the home she continued to share with her husband until her death.

Misty is survived by her husband Imad of Frisco, TX, son Isaac Al-Tirhi and daughter in law Ashley of McKinney, daughter Tysha Lutz and son in law Brandon of McKinney, granddaughters Isabella and Benning, and her grandsons Fenway and Declan. Misty is also survived by her sister Helen Bryant, sister in law Ramona Adams and numerous nieces and nephews.

Misty is preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother L. Gale Adams.
