Daniel Lynn Arnold, 75, of Allen, Texas, passed from his earthly home to hisheavenly home on April 7, 2026.
A graveside committal service with immediate family was held on April 13, 2026,at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be heldon July 24, 2026 – details below.
Dan was born on July 24, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Melvin and BarbaraArnold. He came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at age 8 andremained a faithful believer and follower of Jesus for the rest of his life. Hegraduated from East High School in Des Moines and went on to earn a Bachelorof Arts degree in Art Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 1972. OnJune 2, 1973, Dan married Laura Hotz, and together they built a life rooted intheir faith as they raised three daughters.
Dan began his career teaching high school art in Red Oak, Iowa, for two years. Hethen served as store manager at The Art Store in Des Moines for 21 years, where his passion for sales flourished and defined the rest of his career. After working for Holcomb Corporation in Urbandale, Iowa, for two years, Dan took a job in Texas in 1999. He spent 22 years as a sales manager with Retro 1951, Inc. in Richardson, TX, before retiring in 2021. Throughout his professional life, Dan demonstrated hard work, integrity, and loyalty in all that he did.
For most of his adult life, Dan faithfully volunteered at church on Sunday mornings with little ones. He also served in leadership roles at church and at his daughters’ private Christian school. Dan’s heart for ministry extended to international students and taking mission trips around the world. After retiring, he volunteered at Coventry Reserve, a Christ-centered organization, helping adults with special needs in pottery making.
Dan was known for his easy-going nature and cheerful smile. Dan loved food,especially snacks, with popcorn and rhubarb pie at the top of the list. Dan was acowboy at heart and had a lifelong love of cars. He found great joy in being ahusband, dad and especially “Bopa” (grandpa). He enjoyed spending time withfamily and friends, traveling, reading, using his creativity and being a handyman.
Dan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Laura Arnold; his children, Katie Arnold,Jenna (Micah) Epperson, and Stacey (Jay) Whaley; his grandchildren, Isabella andGavin Epperson, and Cora and Royce Whaley; and his siblings: Stephen Arnold,
David (Mary) Arnold, and Kathy Rail. Dan was preceded in death by his parents,Melvin and Barbara Arnold.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 24, 2026, from 02:00 to 4:00 p.m. at ChaseOaks Church - Sloan Creek Campus in Fairview, Texas. In tribute to Dan, guestsare encouraged to wear bright colors or a bow tie.
