Damian Kekoa Quintero was such a special boy. The only person in the world to have the conditions he had together, but that’s not all that made him special. His eyes, his face, his hair, his sassiness, his fight, his love, every single thing about him is what made him special, and is what made him Damian. You look at Damian and you just light up with joy. He had this effect on each and every person that has met him to the point where you just can’t forget him. His sweet, loving, precious smile would light up even the darkest room. That’s how special Damian is.
He has ived most of his life in the hospital, and has only been home for 6 weeks, but this never stopped Damian from being the sweetest, most loving, joyous baby we know. He was so smart for his age and condition. He was very resilient and curious. But most of all, he was so strong and such a fighter. We blessed Damian with the middle name of “Kekoa,” which means warrior and fighter, and he has lived up to his name from day one. He has been through so much within his 9 months of life and he has fought through it all graciously and gracefully. It was a true honor to have a son like Damian.
Damian is survived by his Mom, Natalie; Dad, Jose “Joe”; Brothers, Mariano and Joey; Sisters, Lila and Danica; and Grandparents, Glory, Anthony, Irene, and Jose.
Damian was and forever will be loved by family, friends, and each and every care team that has met and cared for Damian.
