Dalia Lopez Figueroa

December 9, 1958 — August 27, 2025

The Colony, Texas

Dalia Lopez Figueroa went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 27, 2025, after many years of carrying the cross of several serious medical conditions. She was born on December 9, 1958 in Levelland, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents; Juan and Christina (Tina) Lopez.

As a young child, Dalia lived in Port Mansfield, where she said she remembered the scent of the ocean air coming in through the windows of her Tia’s house. At a young age, she developed a love of the outdoors. She especially loved being near the water and camping. Later, the Lopez family moved to McKinney and frequented many parks, lakes, and camp grounds in North Texas. Dalia had fond memories of camping at Lake Texoma, which was one of her favorite spots.

In 1976, she married the love of her life, George Figueroa. They moved to The Colony "The City by the Lake" and together they raised three children. It was inevitable, Dalia and George lived minutes from the lake and one of their favorite simple pleasures was visiting Stewart's Creek Park on Lake Lewisville. Over the years, the park held many precious memories for the family.

Naturally, Dalia had a nurturing and loving spirit. She raised her own children and found her calling in childcare. She provided childcare in her own home, as well as local day cares. She loved taking care of babies and treated them all as her own. She received recognition by Bright Horizons as a standout teacher, of which she was very proud.

She loved to laugh and tell stories. She loved quality time with family and taking pictures. She was a caring wife, daughter, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend. To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her beloved husband, George Figueroa; children Alicia (Louis Green), David Ramirez (Kim), Jorge Figueroa (Erica), and Lorenzo Figueroa; grandchildren Lonnie Contreras (Alexis), Izac Contreras (Haley), Rita Green, Louis Green, Olivia Green, Carmen Figueroa, Ava Ramirez, Celeste Figueroa; great-grandchild Izac Contreras and numerous loving relatives and dear friends. She is also survived by her siblings Diana Lopez, Delia (Andres Bravo), John Lopez, and Albert Lopez (Rae).

A public time of gathering and visitation will be held from 6:00p to 8:00p on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, located at 601 S. Tennessee St, McKinney, TX 75069.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
