Connie Lou Werden

The irreplaceable Prissy, believer in the value of possibilities and big ideas died May 15, 2026 in Parker, Texas with her family by her side.  Born in Dallas, Texas to William and Arlene Sorrells, she grew up with one younger sister, Billi Ruth Popham, who preceded her in death.  She graduated from Forest Avenue High School and worked as an executive assistant while raising her family.

For 76 years cooking was her passion.  Her home and fashion reflected a warm, curated confident personality.  

Her dearest husband, Arthur C. Werden III, of 38 years and former husband Omer H. Steele, Jr. both preceded her in death.  She was a fierce defender of all her family which included Pam Liebrum (and Kit) of Parker, Texas, Richard Steele (deceased) and Renee Steele of Plano, Texas, Bart and Kim Werden of Frisco, Texas and Carla and Greg Overbeck of North Carolina.  Grandchildren are Andrea, Aaron, Jamie, LuAnne, Mitchell, Reese, Senti, Jordan, Jimmy, Meredith, Caroline, Jackson, and Carson.  Great grandchildren, Jesse, Kennedy, Slade, Shelby, Sonny, Daley, Brody and Violet.  She loved them dearly and was grateful they filled her and Art's life with such joy.
